SPOILER ALERT! =========== Cutty Black Sow was an excellent, scary episode... I have some nagging questions about minor details about this episode, some one please help me with them!
1) The dying grandmother gave the protagonist kid some instructions on how to avoid the cutty black sow. Since he gets killed at the end, does that mean he made a mistake in following the instruction? What was the mistake? I know he found that the rock with his letter was no longer in the fireplace when he got back from trick or treating, but that was not his fault, was it? Any details/clues on this would be appreciated.
2) In the end, the cutty black sow comes to his room disguised as his dad... or is it the other way around? Was his dad the cutty black sow all along in disguise? Was that the mistake that the kid made, not knowing that his dad was the cutty black sow?
Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thanks1

I liked that episode myself. It was one of the best ones.
On the stone, from I understood of it, it didn't matter if it was his mistake or not. It had to stay in the fire.
It appeared to me the dad was the cutty black sow all along. Could be too perhaps the cutty black sow could take over a person too as a way of trickery.

I wonder how the Cutty Black Sow could take over the dad - the kid put a rock in the fire to protect the dad.
I think if anything the Cutty Black Sow must have disguised himself as the dad.
IIRC, didn't the lamp breaking have something to do with the rock coming out of the fire? Like when the lamp fell over it somehow knocked the rock out of the fire?

the rock was supposed to stay on the fire... and the cutty black sow was impersonating the kid's father... i read about the legend, is like the devil at a crossroads or something like that...

I thought the cutty black sow was the guard of the gates of Hell. When someone died on All Hallow evening the guard changed. Dad past the curse to the son.
