I find it so irritating how they have crappy shows on DVD that ran for a couple of years.....and they don't even have Darkside, which ran for much longer....oh well.

I found a similar set on another web site (ufotheatre.com; not a name that inspires much confidence...) They also have Monsters.
Does anyone know what the status of these illicit(?) DVD are? Are they boots of some sort, perhaps copied from the European DVD release? Or were they ripped from TV? I presume they *are* illegal copies, right?

;DThe Status of these illicit DVDs, well I had just received my 6 DVD set last week, the picture and sound quality is fair, and they were taped on VHS off the SCI-FI channel in the early 90's. I hope that clarifies your inquisition Keyser. ERRATICATOR

They are episodes taken from the Sci-Fi channel airings in the early 90's. Transfered from VHS to DVD-R or DVD+R and include menu's & chapter selection. Most of the sellers, selling them include screenshots of the actual transfer & episode quality ratings. So you know exactly what you are getting. All are either master or 1st gens. but, considering the show has not yet been officially released and we dont have any information on when it will be, I'd go with one of the copied sets that have cover art & alot of time put in by the seller.

Paramount has the rights to TFTD, and with Sci Fi Channel airing the show later this year. We may see them on DVD in a years time.
